Job Title: Industrial Electrician – Food Manufacturing
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician with experience in the food manufacturing industry to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within our production facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring production lines run efficiently and safely in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, control panels, motors, and industrial equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on production and packaging machinery to minimize downtime.
Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs, VFDs, and other automation systems.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes and food industry safety and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and machinery reliability.
Interpret and update electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and conduct necessary repairs in a timely manner.
Monitor and maintain backup systems, including generators and UPS units.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation.
Support capital projects and plant upgrades by assisting in equipment installation and commissioning.
High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary training in Electrical or Industrial Technology preferred.
Valid electrician license/certification (Journeyman or Master Electrician, depending on state/provincial requirements).
Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical theory, wiring, troubleshooting, and industrial safety practices.
Experience with PLC programming, instrumentation, and automated systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP, SQF) is an asset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
